ISO Dialogue Poem


What should we do today?

There is nothing to do.

We could play football.

No

We could play a video game.

We did that all yesterday.

We could play a board game.

We’ve already played them all.

We could watch a movie.

They haven’t released anything new!

Well what do you think we should do then?

I don’t know.

You can’t come up with one thing?

We’ve exhausted all our ideas.

I guess you’re right. 

There is nothing to do.

Nothing open.

No one to see.

Lockdown has made life boring.

Yeah and it’s going to stay like this for awhile.

Yeah I guess you could say this is the new normal.

This normal is boring.

Boring is the new normal.

What Could've Been

 Final grades for semester 1 were finalized on Friday. Today, while the the second week of semester 2, is basically the start of the second semester of my senior year.  My last semester in high school.      I have obviously been looking forward to this last semester throughout my high school journey. I've heard seniors from previous years talk about how this semester is the best one of high school. This is where you declare for college, start making preparations for the future, and where high school becomes easier. Yet now as I am here I feel excited and nervous for what is to come, but at the same time I feel I missed part of my high school experience from the global pandemic. While this is the fault of no one it is still upsetting to me and often makes we wonder how many of my experience over the last year could've been very different.      Would have I not broken my leg during the first game of our football season? Short Story

  Colt walks the route again for the second time. His face covered, concealing the identity of himself to the thousands of people walking by even though he probably wouldn’t be noticed anyway. It was the beginning rush hour. Foot traffic clogged the streets and sidewalks as everyone made their way to their destinations. The sky filled with smog and the dense compaction of people made Colt invisible in the crowd as he too walked toward his destination.Yet, today was not an ordinary day, it was the day he would attempt the heist he’d been planning for weeks. He continued on his route, turning right down an alley way toward his destination, an apartment building on lower 15th ave. He walked down the stairs to be greeted by a bodyguard at the front of the apartment door. “Id.” the bodyguard said. Colt handed over his Id, which in reality wasn’t his real Id.
